Madeline Bohm's work weds her training in the philosophy of language with that in the fine arts, using paint, screenprinting, and mixed media techniques to explore the political and philosophical. Her current body of work focuses on the physicality of the human form and its presence as an interface for communication with the external world. Portraying the sense organs in ways which interrupt the ordinary conception of the body's skin as an uncrossable boundary, her work makes literal the tension between the psychological desire of the human mind to communicate and the physical limits of the individual body, relative to other bodies. Madeline lives, works and has exhibited in New York City.
